A Brief Overview

The successful candidate will assist in US GAAP and statutory reporting processes and project.

What you will do

  • Assist in production, analysis and reconciliation of valuation and management reporting across US GAAP, STAT and TAX bases.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives within the valuation team to enhance operational efficiency, control effectiveness, and reporting timeliness.
  • Contribute to economic valuation projects, including EC and other related analysis
  • Perform financial projections and model runs in support of statutory, corporate and regulatory reporting exercises.
  • Assist in the development, review and documentation of Best Estimate Assumptions, including experience studies analysis
  • Conduct result analysis, impact assessment, and scenario testing, and help explain key movements and drivers
  • Support the development, enhancement, and implementation of actuarial models, including testing and validation activities.
  • Perform valuation controls, data validation and audit checks to ensure compliance with internal governance, SOX and audit requirements.
  • Provide support on ad-hoc analyses and projects as required by the team.

Qualifications

  • Some progress in Society of Actuaries exams or other equivalent actuarial bodies;
  • 2 to 3 years’ work experience in life insurance/reinsurance companies, with the knowledge of HK life insurance market/products being a plus;
  • Hands on experience from valuation or financial reporting, ideally on US GAAP reporting but not a must;
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with Alteryx is an added advantage. Actuarial modeling experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, data management skills, work attitudes to details and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; and
  • Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take a leading role in a wide variety of assignments.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for Actuarial Analyst.
