A Brief Overview

Qualified / near qualified actuary responsible for managing LDTI valuation and financial reporting for the SEA market, ensuring compliance, process improvement, and collaboration across teams. It also involves supervising junior associates, conducting financial impact studies, and supporting business planning with strong technical expertise.

What you will do

  • Manage and performs LDTI valuation for SEA market. Analyse quarterly financial results to explain variances to plan and communicate key drivers of results.
  • Participate in the review of experience studies and actuarial analysis to support assumption setting with due consideration on regional and local reporting. This also includes the annual review of best estimate assumptions for actuarial valuations and business projections following any applicable corporate guidance.
  • Support business plan.
  • Support any process enhancement or automation into existing practice, as well as the coordination with the corporate / regional teams as needed. Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation relating to the actuarial processes.
  • Compliance controls and audit checks on the valuation data and bases.
  • Manage and coordinate with data team, finance, and pricing teams to achieve goals.
  • Manage junior actuarial associates with supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment.
  • Perform other ad hoc analysis as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance or Actuarial Science or other relevant field or equivalent related work experience Required
  • 5+ Years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance, preferably on valuation or financial reporting with the knowledge of GAAP required
  • 1+ Years of people management experience required
  • Knowledge of actuarial software (e.g., Prophet / AXIS) and a good understanding of Excel and VBA. required
  • Good analytical and data management skills as well as work attitudes to details and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. required
  • Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and own a wide variety of assignments. required
  • Good problem-solving ability to translate business needs into acceptable solutions. preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills. required
  • Fully or near qualified Fellow with one of the recognized international actuarial associations (FSA, FIA, FIAA, etc.) Required
