Role Overview

The Audit Lead position is part of the Asia Pacific audit team, to be based in Kuala Lumpur. The role will lead and manage compliance audits of RGA entities within the Asia Pacific region. Responsible for designing and developing compliance audit programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and providing meaningful assurance through practical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts audit planning, designs and develops audit programs and procedures to achieve adequate audit assurance.

  • Obtains, analyzes, appraises and documents supporting information to derive objective audit conclusions and recommendations.

  • Communicates audit results and prepares audit reports for identified business process control improvements.

  • Follows up with process owners to ensure management action plans are properly addressed.

  • Manages outsourced compliance audits to ensure the audits are completed with quality and on time.

  • Participates in the ongoing risk assessments of the business to ensure audit assurance covers relevant business risks.

  • Liaises with internal management and/or external consultants to promote positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent

  • 4+ years experience in Compliance, Risk, or Internal Audit or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Insurance/reinsurance industry experience

Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of associates within an organization

  • Effective English speaking and writing skills to coordinate with management and global audit team

  • Ability to work well within a team

  • Ability to travel when needed

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business of RGA

Preferred:

  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Python, Power BI, Tableau

  • CIA or other certifications or advanced degrees
