GIC Sales & Commercial Capabilities team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities – Selling, driving distribution gains and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets. We enable customer, pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management and Category Management. Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

Purpose of the role

 

This Retail Excellence Analyst will serve as the secondary point of contact for data management, analytics, and reporting for the North America Retail Team’s Pet division. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, providing actionable insights, and supporting cross-functional partners with a solution-oriented mindset. The position requires advanced problem-solving skills, technical expertise in analytics and systems, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Salesforce Data Management, Reporting & Analytics (70% of time)

  • Master and own deliverables in the form of reports & presentations, and send quality output in a timely manner with upgrades
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for Salesforce and dashboard analytics for the field team and account managers
  • Assist with providing troubleshooting and support for Salesforce questions and analytics
  • Scrub, validate, and maintain Salesforce store data to ensure accuracy and resolve statistical outliers in key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collect, load, and manage monthly compliance questions and updates in Salesforce
  • Update and maintain time-out-of-field records to ensure accurate performance metrics
  • Assist with quarterly team scorecards and other reporting needs, including performance scorecards and reports highlighting opportunities and achievements
  • Assist with KPI assessments and content creation for field and leadership audiences
  • Support new item launches and product conversions with strong data and analytics oversight
  • Design superlative templates, develop and execute dashboards/ tools in a turn-key scalable format, leveraging GCP & Tableau.
  • Translate data into actionable insights by identifying meaningful sales execution indicators and trends to deliver stakeholder-ready business recommendations.

Continuous Improvement mindset to deliver Executional Excellence, and Project Management (20% of time)

  • Ensure TAT is upheld via awareness on process requirements, meeting benchmark time estimates and through articulate expectation settings with the stakeholder
  • Guarantee data quality and accuracy through thorough comprehension of the request, accurate application of tools/platforms with an eye for detail, and a robust data & logic check
  • Eliminate Waste, Contribute to the Functional Productivity Goals
  • CI Mindset: develop and drive a lens of continuous improvement for the projects, process & larger team
  • Project Management: Juggle multiple projects, including. long-range projects and own project scoping, to troubleshooting, collaborating, to timely communication/iterations with peers and stakeholders, to high-impact completion and presentation
  • Mentoring & Training new hires and analysts to excel in their roles and outperform expectations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education – Full-time graduation from an accredited university
  • Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
  • Minimum years of related experience required: 3-6 years of relevant Business Reporting, Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG (or related) industry, Data Modelling preferred history of collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
  • Demonstrated experience with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI etc.)
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Patience and customer service orientation in supporting field teams.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Systems knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau
  • Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
  • Preferred Major Area of Study: Business Management, Statistics, Marketing or Retail
  • Preferred years of related experience: 5 - 6 years of relevant Business Reporting and/or Analytics experience
  • Experience with market data analysis tools is required (experience working with ACNielsen and IRI data preferred.)

  • CPG or retail experience highly valued including Customer planning & execution
  • Expertise POS data, recognizing patterns for GMI categories and/or customers
