For Ralph Lauren, a store has always been an expression of a dream and a lifestyle—the projection of a total “look and image.” Ralph believed from the beginning that his collections had to live in a complete world of their own, so in 1969, he created the very first shop-in-shop concept—a stand-alone Polo store located within the Bloomingdale's department store in New York City. Today there are Ralph Lauren flagships, freestanding stores and department store shops in more than 80 countries all over the world.
