Research Technician II - Department of Surgery (Part-Time)

Perform Experiments: Perform set up of research experiments and tests and conducts these experiments according to defined protocols, while seeking guidance from the Pl and other lab members, as needed. Become familiar with study, applicable background research, laboratory protocols and procedures. Ensure compliance with lab procedures, protocols, and quality control. Equipment: Set up lab equipment and operate surgical devices following established instruction and procedures. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot scientific apparatuses, equipment and instruments specific to assignment. Clean, sterilize, and maintain lab equipment. Data collection and analysis: Assist with research sample collection and specimen preparation. Maintain logs, records, notes, data, and spreadsheets to document the results of experiments, compiling research data and facilitating data analysis. Administrative: Provide administrative support to research projects (ordering supplies, maintain inventory, scanning, photocopies, labeling, filing, record keeping, etc.) Participate in lab meetings and other scientific discussions.
