Research Scientist (MSc Organic Chemistry 0-5 Yrs)

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform multi-step organic synthesis of drug impurities and intermediates
  
• Develop and optimize synthetic routes for impurities
  
• Handle mg to gram scale synthesis efficiently
  
• Perform purification using techniques like column chromatography, recrystallization, prep-HPLC
  
• Characterize compounds using NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, IR
  
• Maintain proper documentation as per GLP (Good Laboratory Practices)
  
• Interpret analytical data and prepare technical reports
  
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines such as ICH
  
• Collaborate with analytical and QA teams for project completion

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
  
• Strong knowledge of organic reaction mechanisms
  
• Hands-on experience in impurity or API-related synthesis
  

Required Skills:

• Expertise in organic synthesis and reaction optimization
  
• Knowledge of analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, NMR)
  
  
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  
• Good documentation and communication skills
  

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in impurity synthesis / reference standard development
  
• Exposure to pharmaceutical R&D or CRO industry
  
• Experience in handling air/moisture-sensitive reactions
