We are responsible for the implementation of emergency response, for the safety and protection of the people at the CHEMPARK. But also for the production facilities, the building complexes and the extensive infrastructure. We are always on standby and have the necessary expertise, experience and equipment to protect the CHEMPARK and the approximately 54,000 people who work there. The Chempark site fire brigade offers two training opportunities:
The training to become a site firefighter, where you can start immediately after leaving school. During the three-year IHK basic training, you learn everything about the fire brigade profession. The first 18 months of training take place at the Currenta training centre. Here you get to know various manual activities. After that, the actual training to become a firefighter takes place, identical to the B1 course.
By the way… we are the only vocational school in Germany for training to become a plant firefighter.
The firefighter candidate B1 course is aimed at people who have already completed training – preferably in the technical or scientific field – or who have completed training as an emergency paramedic.
The B1 candidates start immediately with the fire brigade technical training. This includes, among other things, the acquisition of a truck driver’s licence, training as a paramedic and the practical training on guard duty. Outside of operations, you work in specialist areas or workshops. The training takes place mainly in Leverkusen, and if possible the guard training takes place at the site (Leverkusen, Dormagen, Krefeld-Uerdingen) where you will be deployed in th
