About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Accountant with strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience to manage financial operations for real estate portfolios. This role focuses on maintaining accurate books, performing reconciliations, tracking property-level financials, and ensuring clean reporting for owners and leadership.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with real estate accounting workflows, understands property-level reporting, and is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management

Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online.

Record and reconcile rent payments, owner contributions, expenses, and vendor invoices.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Ensure proper GL coding by property and class tracking (if applicable).
Reconciliation & Reporting

Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepare financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.

Generate property-level reports for owners and stakeholders.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Owner & Vendor Support

Track owner distributions and prepare owner statements.

Coordinate with vendors regarding payments and discrepancies.

Assist in responding to financial inquiries from property managers or owners.
Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and company policies.

Maintain organized digital records and audit-ready documentation.

Flag discrepancies, missing transactions, or unusual variances proactively.
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in US real estate or property management accounting.

Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Solid understanding of rent ledgers, owner statements, reconciliations, and property-level accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines in a remote setup.
Additional Requirements

Must be currently residing in the Philippines or Latin America.
