Responsible for serving as the health system lead in quality based regulatory reporting and recommending strategies to improve performance for overall outcomes and patient safety. This position works with leadership and staff in the areas of administration, providers, nursing, and support areas to communicate requirements for reporting and the impact of programs on the health system. Analysis performed to determine the improvement needed to reach the goal of becoming a top-tier academic medical center. The analysis is used to set goals/targets for performance across the medical center. The position partners with other departments to align measurement strategies and assets and education to ensure all metrics are well defined and understood.
Position Summary
The Quality and Program Coordination Senior Consultant leverages knowledge of external quality-based programs, quality metrics, and internal reporting to educate all levels of staff and influence priorities and targets for improvement. The position requires specialized and unique expertise with respect to knowledge of reporting programs for organizations such as CMS, Joint Commission, Leapfrog, Vizient, US News & World Report. The Senior Consultant serves as the medical center expert on these programs and will provide guidance to colleagues at all levels of the organization including providing leadership with information to report to governance. Regular education/feedback will occur with different teams/departments. The Senior Consultant will influence how areas review performance and identify priorities and targets that can span multiple years.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in health care administration (MHA), operational excellence (MBOE), business administration (MBA) or related field
8+ years of experience in a clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in areas of health care quality, safety and/or performance improvement; 12 years preferred
Demonstrates or has a background in quality metrics and impact on reporting programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates the ability to balance and coordinate numerous priorities while demonstrating the qualities of trust, teamwork and transparency.
Possesses the competencies to lead and educate all levels of staff and leadership on quality metrics and opportunities
Demonstrated the ability to work well in an environment with changing priorities and to work well independently and as a part of a team.
Senior Consultant will be articulate, self-motivated, able to act independently when appropriate, enthusiastic, collaborative, possess a mindset for detail
Able to influence with passion and data.
