Job Introduction:
Fulfillment of expectations of external and internal customers through target-oriented transition to mass production (price, deadline, quality) of the project in partnership with the supply base. Coordination of Simultaneous Engineering based on the process descriptions (Intranet), area Purchasing. To lead and guide a cross-functional team over different locations. Motivate team to generate best possible outcome.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibility and tracking of sourcing and launch related activities on time (e.g. PPAP, Toolings, sourcing/nominations, prototype orders, deliveries, etc.)
Report supplier readiness and cost cost status to program management and Project status to PUR Sr. Management
Prepare and lead supplier negotiations regarding costs, timing, legal and contractual topics, and mirror customer requirementsetc. including alternative negotiation concepts and support make or buy decisions
Prepare, invite and execute supplier workshops (cost down, feasibility, synergies, supply chain issues, etc.)
Applying of existing Lessons Learned, organize and execute future Lessons Learned workshops
Apply and ensure continuous improvement methodology, implement and transfer knowledge
Support cost estimate and target price setting
Purchasing Process Execution (e.g. RFQ package and execution, quote analyses, negotiations and nominations, Change requests, etc.)
Order processing and supervision of prototypes, samples and serial tools until hand over to plant
Development, definition and tracking of cost-saving potentials
Monitor and track costed BOM, scrutinize technical concepts and designs from acquisition to SOP
Support, preparation and presentation of project-relevant data to relevant stakeholders
Creating and maintain an expert understanding of the supplier markets incl. their key sub suppliers and maintaining supplier business relationships
Support acquisition projects including support quote process to customer
Act as "Head of project" and functional leadership (Purchasing)
Being PUR representative in all relevant project meetings
Prepare and present project-relevant data to relevant stakeholders incl. Mgt. Board
Drive acquisition projects as a Purchasing lead
Monitoring safe and timely launch activities and support resolution of occurred issues
First escalation level, sparring partner and trainer for colleagues and team
Support and drive department development
Drive cost saving initiatives
Organize and set up PUR project team
Continuous improvement
Promotion, maintenance and deployment of cross-divisional best practices, Initiating Lessons Learned workshops
Supporting development, improvements and challenge of existing purchasing tools and methods
Synergies identification among different Projects
Implement process landscape improvements
Screening of helpful IT-Tools

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required with a business or technical emphasis
Work experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in similar positions, as PUR or Program lead, relevant experience within the automotive industry preferred
Competences & skills:
Excellent skills and experience in contract negotiation and price negotiation in a manufacturing environment
Ability to understand global footprints and their interfaces, find synergies cross continent and have a vision of the “Big picture”
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel)
Fluent in English language
SAP ERP experience desired but not mandatory
Strategic and solution-oriented thinker and implementer of effective tactical plans
Leading competences and proven experience in managing complex projects
Willingness to travel (approx. 10-15% domestic and international)
