Our mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs wherever you are. Today, not even the best models can continuously process and reason over a year-long stream of audio, video and text—1B text tokens, 10B audio tokens and 1T video tokens—let alone do this on-device.

We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.

About the Role

Cartesia is hiring a growth-minded Product Engineer, Surfaces to ship high-quality, model-powered experiences across Cartesia’s surfaces—web, SDKs, docs, and APIs—in collaboration with our GTM, model serving, research, and product teams.

Your Impact

• Ship developer-first products through a combination of talking to users and first-principles thinking.

• Bring Cartesia’s latest models to the world by rapidly building high-performance interfaces to serve them to customers.

• Develop measures to rigorously evaluate the outcome of your work and iterate based on feedback.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, model serving, research, and product to craft surfaces that grow Cartesia and multiply our work.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience in full-stack development.

• Proficient in TypeScript, with experience building modern web applications using React.

• Deep intuition about what makes for good developer experience.

• Backend expertise in Python or Go with a focus on APIs.

• Proven experience shipping and iterating on a user-facing product in a fast-moving organization.

Nice-to-Haves

• Each of these is a plus, but not required to qualify for the role.

  • Former founder at a startup or early engineer who shipped a product from zero to one.

  • Experience building voice agents and voice-enabled applications.

  • Active online presence on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, or your own blog.

  • Experience working in close collaboration with the GTM or research functions at an AI company.
