Procurement Manager

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Buyer to execute the strategical buying for EMEA logistics procurement commodities with special attention to distribution, warehousing or logistics services .
Based in Amsterdam , you will report to the Group manager Logistics procurement. You should have tracked record of procurement commodity management, strategy set up and vendor management. Ideally you have in-depth knowledge of markets and carriers and have experience in negotiating contracts for logistics commodities.
By leveraging in-house procurement tools, we drive efficiencies and strategic sourcing to enhance cost-effectiveness. In this role, you’ll collaborate with local stakeholders across EMEA, to source and contract goods, services and works that contribute to the transformation of our company.
- Be responsible for logistics procurement commodities and optimize the procurement process for EMEA logistics
- Develop and implement strategies to drive down costs for the OEM while ensuring that transport companies receive fair compensation, aligning with our commitment to responsible sourcing.
- Leverage your analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities, should costs, analyse market trends, and evaluate supplier performance to make informed decisions.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing agreements and contribute to the company's financial goals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, and finance, to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Drive the adoption of fully automated transport solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and streamline logistics processes.
- Develop a strong Supplier Relationship Management program
- Acquiring a solid understanding of cost drivers , should costs and markets development
- Adhere to inhouse policies for sourcing requests, buyer planning and sourcing & contracting approvals by using inhouse developed procurement tools such as Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), ERP system and RFQ tool.
- Own and issue RFx’s from identifying potential suppliers and economies of scale to contracting.
- Review, analyse, negotiate and clarify supplier quotations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
- 2-4 years of experience in supply chain/procurement/purchasing roles, ideally with exposure to logistics commodity.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects in various phases simultaneously with various stakeholders.
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong analytical and judgment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.
- Proven ability of supplier and stakeholder relationship management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written ability in English language, and ideally another European language
- Spend more than 60% at our Amsterdam office and/or our vendors location
