The Opportunity:

As a Principal, Infrastructure and Real Assets, you will lead deal teams in performing due diligence on new infrastructure investment opportunities.  You will play an integral role in developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing investment partners, as well as assisting in business development initiatives in the region.  You will also be expected to lead other special projects, including research initiatives, as necessary, with support from junior investment professionals.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead due diligence efforts on primary fund, direct co-investments, minority positions, and secondary transactions in infrastructure.
  • Direct the work of Analysts and Associates in the due diligence process, while playing an integral role in the training and development of junior members of the team.
  • Assist other senior members of the investment team with resource allocation, while leading communication with investment sponsors, clients and prospects in North America.
  • Work autonomously and lead General Partner meetings, asset tours and site visits in North America, with very limited senior staff oversight.
  • Full knowledge of analytics and qualitative factors crucial to infrastructure investing are imperative
  • Model complex transactions, distribution waterfalls, and be familiar with negotiations of partnership and transaction documents.
  • Complete special projects, including client projects, industry analysis, and geographical studies, as necessary, with support from other junior investment professionals.

Your background will include:

  • 10+ years’ relevant investment experience, including transaction experience with infrastructure secondary purchases, and/or direct investing
  • Experience from primary fund investing only will be considered, but preference for those candidates with demonstrated secondary or direct transaction skills
  • Strong modeling and quantitative analytical skills
  • Strong communication and poised presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree as a minimum
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and measurable success as a strategic thinker are essential to the success of this position
  • Strong initiative and independent performance are imperative
  • Ability to present and defend opinions and investment ideas
  • Ability to be self-directed and actively seek out information and resources to complete assignments effectively and efficiently
