The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is seeking a senior professional to join our Seoul office, to develop and secure new business opportunities within the region. In this role you will bring your ability to communicate effectively, present complex strategies to clients and operate in a results-driven dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Work with the other Client Solutions professionals in the Republic of Korea to develop new business contacts and client relationships with institutional investors, consultants and family offices through an active calling program. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the sales process for new prospects uncovered in the region through the calling program.
  • A high expected level of sales activity through face-to-face meetings, video conferences, and direct telephone conversations.
  • Interfacing with other senior team members in coordinating internal and external prospect meetings.
  • Contributing to the development of standard marketing materials and presentations.
  • Lead various sales and client-related activities in their respective geography including:
  • Maintaining sales activities and new business pipeline in CRM.
  • Managing the coordination efforts for presentations and meetings with prospects and clients.
  • Managing the response to R.F.P.s and R.F.I.s in conjunction with the business support team.
  • Work directly with other representatives throughout the firm to ensure a superior level of client service.
  • Coaching and mentoring of Client Solutions team members providing sales support
  • Maintaining the highest possible profile for our company in a manner demonstrating the integrity of the company through attendance at conferences, meetings and seminars
  • Other sales-related projects, as necessary.
  • Help manage existing client and investor relationships across the region through proactive outreach and responding to various requests. Includes coordinating with the broader Hamilton Lane team.
  • Serve as a critical and strategic communicator to Hamilton Lane prospects and clients and provide market updates when required. As such, must possess knowledge about the private markets and how Hamilton Lane’s solutions and offerings fit into a broader portfolio.
  • Act as a representative of Hamilton Lane to the private equity industry and develop the brand in the Republic of Korea. In this capacity, actively participate in Hamilton Lane’s marketing meetings and attend and participate in regional industry-related events as a representative of Hamilton Lane.

Your background will include:

  • 12+ years of experience in a financial services role with significant business development management responsibilities and market contact and demonstrable track record of success in the region.
  • Background of Private Credit, Venture/Growth, and buyouts will be preferred.
  • Possesses entrepreneurial spirit and has a strong working knowledge and contacts within the institutional investor landscape, pension fund investors and/or family office networks.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be proactive and organized, and be able to comfortably interact with clients, prospects, and consultants.
  • Must hold or be prepared to obtain necessary regulatory licenses.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn proprietary systems, CRMs, and software. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and power point).
  • University degree (B.A., B.S., or B.B.A.). An advanced degree (M.B.A.) or C.F.A. / CAIA or other relevant designation is preferred but not required.
  • Must be flexible to travel in country and to other Hamilton Lane offices as required.
  • Must be flexible to work hours outside the normal workday in order to communicate with other Hamilton Lane offices and personnel.
