Prescriptions Administrator
About the role:
The Prescription Administrator role is ideal for university students looking to gain experience in healthcare administration alongside their studies. As the Prescription Administrator, you will be onsite at our Reading or London offices and will sit within the operations team.
You will support a fast growing healthcare organisation by managing prescription requests, ensuring accuracy, and assisting patients in a professional manner. Full training will be provided.
In this role you will be able to develop key skills in organisation, communication, and responsibility; valuable for careers in healthcare, business, or public service.
Key responsibilities:
Processing patient prescriptions and maintaining full and accurate records.
Contacting patients to follow up on documents needed and responding to queries.
Maintain patients’ electronic health records
Work closely with the pharmacy and clinical teams to ensure smooth dispensing and delivery of medication to patients
Updating patients with any changes in their prescription
Working with partner pharmacies to ensure prescriptions sent externally are delivered and dispensed correctly
Collate feedback and liaise with Head of Governance on complaints and compliments
Report Incidents and significant events and liaise with Head of Governance on Incident and Significant events
Support clinicians working in the service with operational queries
Liaise with product and tech support team on technical issues
Work closely with line manager and wider team on service improvement
Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information
Organising and prioritising workload efficiently
Attend work related meetings as required
To maintain all mandatory training and familiarity with company policies and SOPS
Shift based and flexible working maybe required from time to time
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced organisation and meet deadlines
Working in a healthcare environment advantageous but not essential
Excellent attention to detail
High level of IT proficiency
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
