Amsterdam, Noord-holland March 7, 2026 Full Time Tesla Custom Ats

Join Tesla in building the power grid of the future with clean, sustainable energy. We're looking for a skilled Power Systems Engineer to help design, model, and integrate our battery storage solutions, accelerating the green-energy transformation.

As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our in-house Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) testing capabilities for energy storage, solar, and electric charging systems at large scale. You will collaborate with utilities, independent power providers, system operators, and various engineers in technical power systems discussions, influencing control design to enable seamless grid scaling.

  • Design and validate controls to meet diverse utility requirements, integrating control elements and creating test plans to ensure grid stability and compliance with utility standards
  • Conduct Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) testing to validate control behaviour against design specifications and project requirements, developing and maintaining test setups, automating processes, and ensuring efficient studies with well-organised documentation
  • Identify and resolve control and communication issues using first-principles analysis and troubleshooting techniques
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify regional requirements for plant control and design, working together to develop effective solutions
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining hardware-software integrated setups, with strong debugging skills on both hardware and software for maintaining test setups
  • Strong foundation in electrical principles, circuit theory, and control systems
  • Proficiency in automation scripting and control design using at least one programming language, such as Python, C, or C++
  • Expertise in simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate findings concisely and collaborate cross-functionally with customers, engineers, business development, and deployment teams
  • Hands-on experience with network protocols, oscilloscopes, and real-time simulation platforms (e.g., RTDS, Typhoon HIL, RTAC, Opal-RT) is a plus
  • Fluency in one or more official EU languages (apart from English) is a plus
