Job Description:
The Power Platform Administrator plays a key role in administering and managing the firm’s modern automation, analytics, and AI enablement services, including Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse), Power BI, Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents, and Microsoft Fabric. This role focuses on enabling business users across the firm to develop secure, scalable solutions through no-code, low-code, and pro-code approaches while ensuring strong governance, security, and compliance across platforms. In addition to Microsoft-first capabilities, the administrator may help administer and govern approved third-party AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude AI, and Claude Code), including access management, usage standards, and responsible AI guardrails. The role bridges application development, automation, data/BI, and user support by maintaining well-managed services that foster innovation and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
Administer and support the Microsoft Power Platform service, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Agents, Dataverse, and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring platform security, performance, and availability.
Administer and govern Microsoft Fabric, including workspace standards, capacity planning/monitoring, role-based access, data security, and operational practices for Lakehouse/Warehouse and semantic models as applicable.
Help administer and govern approved AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude AI, Claude Code, and Microsoft Copilot), including provisioning and access management, data protection controls, usage monitoring, and responsible AI standards.
Manage configurations, environments, integrations, and deployments, while enforcing governance policies such as data loss prevention (DLP), access controls, and platform standards.
Oversee application lifecycle management (ALM) and perform platform updates, upgrades, and deployments to production environments as part of established separation of duties.
Provide support for business users and citizen developers, offering templates, technical guidance, and lightweight solution development aligned with platform governance and scalability standards.
Collaborate with development and IT teams to implement production changes, integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 and Azure services, and support enterprise system interoperability.
Monitor platform usage, performance, and compliance, and generate reporting for stakeholders to guide platform optimization and licensing decisions.
Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs, governance guidelines, training materials, and best practice standards, while delivering tier-2 support and troubleshooting for Power Platform/Fabric/AI-tool-related issues.
Qualifications:
Direct experience working in a Power Platform-focused role and related technologies such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, Dynamics, SharePoint, Teams, or Exchange.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas/Model-Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Agents, and Microsoft Fabric, with a focus on service administration, integration, and governance.
Experience administering and governing approved AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude AI, Claude Code, and Microsoft Copilot), including tenant/workspace configuration, access controls, data protection, usage monitoring, and responsible AI policies.
Experience with the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE), including installation, configuration, and customization of the CoE Starter Kit.
Solid understanding of platform governance, including DLP policies, managed environments, licensing, and ALM best practices.
Proficiency in integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise identity services (e.g., Azure AD, ADFS, DNS, and group policy).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment and support citizen development efforts.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience); Microsoft certifications in Power Platform or M365 preferred; ability to support after-hours work, on-call rotation, and occasional travel (<5%).
