YARD CONTROL ROOM OPERATIVE
General Purpose of the role
To maintain stock of bulk raw materials ensuring all materials are accepted in a safe and correct manner in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, and produce accurately manufactured products, in order to meet our customers’ expectations.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide specified products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to meet Company quality standard.
- Schedule and order bulk deliveries of raw materials from external suppliers, to maintain bulk raw material stocks.
- Plan production of bulk formulations to meet factory requirements in order to meet internal/external customers’ expectations, in line with planning requirements and department objectives.
- Ensure duties are carried out efficiently to minimise costs and waste
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe manner with regard to yourself and your colleagues, to comply with health and safety procedures outlined at induction.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, maintain safe-working practices at all times and undertake any required training to ensure the company is in line with legislation.
- Organise your workplace and maintain a high standard of housekeeping, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Ensure all bulk deliveries and raw materials are accepted in accordance with procedure written in Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure all re-work is scheduled in accordance with procedures written in Standard Operating Procedures to minimise costs and waste.
Internal & External Relationships
- Operational manufacturing shift leader – allocation of duties and help or advise to overcome problems
- Forklift Truck Mechanics –assistance with delivery and removal of goods Maintenance Fitter and Electrician – occasional direct contact to report problems
- Quality Control staff – product approval
- Manufacturing Operatives – to discuss production requirements
- Operational Filling shift leader – to discuss paint requirements
- Purchasing staff – ordering and scheduling of bulk deliveries
- Tanker drivers – co-ordinate sampling and off-loading of raw materials Production support staff – to assist with manufacturing and quality problems
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed
- Numerate and literate
- Fork Lift Truck licence essential
- PC literate, SAP, AS400, Datastor, Word
- Self-motivated, able to use own initiative
- Good communicator
Additional Features
- All Process Technicians need to drive Fork Lift Trucks
- Understanding of plant maintenance is expected in order to assist Engineering staff
