Job Description:
Title: Playwright Automation Testing Specialist with Java
Experience: 7+ years in SDET/Test Automation
Location: India Hyderabad
Summary
Seeking a seasoned SDET who has significant working experience building end-to-end test
automation covering Integration, UAT & Regression across UI, API, backend Java/J2EE
applications. The role emphasizes framework design from scratch, rigorous UAT &
Regression automation, Jira-driven lifecycle management, and close collaboration with
engineering and business stakeholders to deliver measurable quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for UI, API, UAT, Regression
Build regression automation suites from scratch for Java/J2EE systems from scratch;
assess application architecture and select industry-standard tooling.
Author In-Sprint UAT, Regression automation scenarios aligned to business
workflows; collaborate with product owners and SMEs to define acceptance criteria
and traceability.
Establish automation standards: coding conventions, test data strategies,
environment parity, and reliable mocks/stubs.
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines; ensure fast, reliable feedback with
parallelization and flaky test remediation.
Develop API test automation: contract testing, schema validation, negative paths,
performance baselines, and data-driven cases.
Own Jira-based test lifecycle: requirements mapping, test case management,
execution tracking, defect triage, coverage reporting, and dashboards.
Create and execute SQL queries for database verification, referential integrity
checks, and back-end assertions.
Partner with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects; provide clear,
actionable bug reports with logs and reproduction steps.
Mentor team members on automation best practices, tooling, and UAT
methodology; advocate for AI-assisted testing where impactful.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure environmental readiness, test data
management, and alignment with release schedules.
Continuously improve :identify gaps, reduce manual eort, and enhance reliability
through refactoring and tooling upgrades.
Required Skills
Framwork(s): POM, Cucumber(BDD)
Tools: Cypress, Selenium, Playwright
API automation expertise: RESTFul API, Postman
Programming: Java/J2EE and Python for robust, maintainable test code.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and UAT processes.
Jira test lifecycle management, dashboards, and traceability.
SQL proficiency for database validation and complex joins.
Analytical and problem-solving skills; root cause analysis for defects.
Excellent communication with stakeholders, developers, and business users.
Attention to detail in designing, executing, and documenting test cases.

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent
