Personnel Analyst

Since September 2009, Whitecap has experienced remarkable growth, increasing production from 850 boe/d to over 365,000 boe/d. As a majority owner and operator of the Weyburn EOR Project, annually we safely sequester approximately 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 making it a unique project within our portfolio. Position Overview
The Personnel Analyst supports Personnel Services teams by providing analytical and administrative support across personnel administration, data management, and reporting. This role focuses on maintaining accurate employee data in Workday, drafting communications, and assisting with participation in external compensation surveys.
Key Responsibilities
Personnel Administration
Support the administration of employee lifecycle transactions for employees, including hires, job changes, compensation updates, leaves, and terminations.
Drafting and sending employment communications regarding employee job changes
Prepare short-term contract extensions and monitor contract expiries to ensure business continuity, and assess contract terms (such as rates) upon renewal
Employment offers and transfer letters that may occur outside of Workday
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date personnel records in accordance with Whitecap policies, employment agreements, and applicable employment standards.
Respond to employee and leader inquiries in the personnel inbox
Support audits, reconciliations, and year‑end personnel activities in collaboration with Personnel team members.
Lead the organization of the personnel inbox, including assigning tasks, flags, responding promptly, following up on items, etc.
Leadership training
Coordinate leadership development and training programs for leaders
Process improvement initiatives, including documenting internal processes for the department
Responsible for employee onboarding and offboarding processes and communications with applicable individuals and teams, as required
Coordination of parking allocations in conjunction with Office Services
Maintain and update the Personnel Services page on the intranet
Compensation Support
Support Whitecap’s participation in external compensation surveys
Extracting required data from Workday.
Validating employee, job, and compensation data for accuracy.
Workday Data Entry & Data Integrity
Enter, maintain, and audit employee, job, and compensation data in Workday to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Perform regular data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in partnership with Personnel Services and Payroll
Create standard and ad‑hoc Workday reports upon request by the personnel team and business
Support recurring internal reporting used by Personnel Services, Compensation, Finance, and leadership.
Skills & Requirements:
5 years of experience in human resources in either an analyst or specialist role
A undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce or Human Resources would be preferred
HRIS experience (Workday preferred) with onboarding, offboarding, position management, and personnel data management
Experience with HR analytics, metrics and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication
