Payments Project Manager

We are looking for a highly experienced Payments Project Manager / Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of proven expertise in delivering endtoend projects within the payments domain. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of ISO 20022 payment architecture, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage largescale projects involving multiple application teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver endtoend payment projects, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of ISO 20022 payment architecture and its impact on systems and processes.
- Manage largescale, complex projects involving crossfunctional and multi-application teams.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships; secure buyin at all levels (business, technology, leadership).
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans to optimize delivery, manage scope, and reduce risks.
- Continuously monitor project execution to identify risks, issues, and dependencies and drive mitigation plans.
- Analyze project and financial reports to derive insights and support informed business decisions.
- Lead change management activities to ensure smooth implementation and adoption.
- Coordinate and present in steering committee meetings, ensuring clear communication of project updates and risks.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, and overall financial governance.
Required Skills (Mandatory)
- 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager in the Payments domain.
- Strong expertise in ISO 20022 payment standards and payment processing flows.
- Proven experience managing endtoend delivery of large, complex projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing multiple application teams and crossfunctional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of steering committee governance and reporting.
- Handson experience in project financial management (budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Digital Payments programs.
- PMP / Prince2 / Agile certifications.
- Knowledge of global payment schemes (SWIFT, RTGS, ACH, NEFT, IMPS).
- Experience working in Agile/Hybrid project delivery environments.
