Your key responsibilities
The Partner / VP Engineering will lead EY India s Client Technology Engine Room, owning end-to-end engineering delivery, quality, and velocity across a portfolio of 8 10 enterprise and SaaS products.
This leader will drive engineering culture, standards, and innovation across multiple product lines, ensuring every team builds with consistency, speed, and reliability while aligning with the firm s broader digital and AI transformation agenda.
Key Provide strategic and operational leadership for all engineering teams delivering EY s Client Technology products and platforms. Manage and mentor a group of Directors and Engineering Leads, each owning 2 3 products, ensuring unified execution and shared best practices.
Drive a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and craftsmanship balancing autonomy with strong delivery discipline.
Define and institutionalize standards for architecture, design, development, and release management across teams.
Establish and monitor engineering KPIs covering development velocity, code quality, deployment frequency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Champion automation and developer productivity, embedding AI-assisted coding, testing, and monitoring into everyday engineering workflows.
Partner with Architecture and Product leadership to ensure technical coherence, scalability, and long-term maintainability across all systems. Build strong feedback loops between product management, design, and engineering to ensure rapid iteration and high-impact releases. Own the overall talent strategy for engineering hiring, mentoring, and career pathing to develop future leaders. Institutionalize robust DevSecOps, observability, and continuous improvement practices to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Ensure governance, compliance, and documentation standards are consistently met across projects. Strategic Dimensions Drive alignment between product strategy and engineering capacity, ensuring resource allocation matches business priorities. Define and evolve the engineering operating model including org design, tooling stack, sprint rhythm, and quality gates. Champion a culture of Build fast, build right focusing equally on speed, technical debt reduction, and resilience. Lead quarterly reviews of engineering efficiency and delivery outcomes with the CTO and business leadership. Partner with the CTO to shape EY India s next-generation AI-first Engineering Organization, leveraging agentic systems and intelligent developer tooling to accelerate time-to-market. Key Requirements 18 25 years of experience in software engineering and platform delivery, with at least 8+ years in multi-team engineering leadership roles (Director+). Proven success leading large, distributed product engineering organizations delivering enterprise-scale SaaS or platform products. Deep technical grounding in modern architectures (microservices, event-driven, API-first, cloud-native systems) and strong ability to guide architecture trade-offs. Demonstrated ability to improve engineering velocity, release cadence, and product quality through process and culture interventions. Experience managing large-scale, multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) environments. Strong command over DevOps, CI/CD, observability, performance tuning, and automation frameworks. Exposure to AI/ML or AI-augmented development environments preferred. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders, shaping culture, and aligning cross-functional teams.
