About the Role:

The Panela Processing Associate LV3 plays a critical role in the production and quality assurance of panela, a traditional unrefined whole cane sugar product. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire processing cycle, from raw material handling to the final packaging, ensuring that all operations meet stringent quality and safety standards. The associate will collaborate closely with production teams to optimize processing efficiency and maintain consistent product characteristics. Additionally, the role involves monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime. Ultimately, the Panela Processing Associate LV3 ensures that the final product delivered to customers meets both company specifications and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in food processing or manufacturing environments, preferably with sugar or similar products.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Ability to operate and maintain industrial processing equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or certification in food science, food technology, or a related field.
  • Experience specifically in panela or sugar cane product processing.
  • Familiarity with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and data recording tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and operate panela processing machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor raw material quality and processing parameters to maintain product consistency and quality.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of processing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety compliance.
  • Document production data, quality control results, and any deviations or incidents during processing.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the production process.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior processing associates to uphold operational standards.

The required skills enable the associate to efficiently operate and monitor processing equipment, ensuring that each batch of panela meets quality standards. Attention to detail and procedural adherence are critical for maintaining product consistency and safety compliance. Communication and teamwork skills facilitate effective collaboration with quality assurance and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
