Optical Material and Process Engineer, DOT Hardware
As an Optical Material and Process Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key optical material and process development to influence the product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will need to travel to suppliers and contract manufacturer sites world-wide to support technology and product development activities (20% travel)
Key job responsibilities
• Responsible for developing optical materials and process to support prototyping, product development and mass production.
• Work with cross-functional team to convert product KPI to material property requirements and develop/source material, process, tools and analytic methodologies to support product development.
• Keep on overview of the state of the art in glass and optical grade plastic, optical thin film, adhesive/binder, surface treatment technologies nanostructure patterning such as photo lithography, dry etching and nano-imprinting.
- 5+ Year's experience in optical materials and process engineering
- 7+ years of experience in optical materials and process engineering

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent- 5+ Year's experience in optical materials and process engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or PhD- 7+ years of experience in optical materials and process engineering
