Onsite – Wolverhampton, GBR

Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Operator to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) team in our Wolverhampton facility. At Moog, we prioritise our customers by designing intricate mechanical products that are often bespoke and high-profile. Our machinists work with exceptionally tight tolerances, a critical requirement in the aerospace industry. This role may also be referred to as a CNC/Manual Grinder. 

  

We currently have one opening (Day shift) 

   

Responsibilities Include 

  • CNC (Studer S33) External Grinding
  • Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials
  • Carry out and own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation
  • Able to set and run multiple machine / processes.
  • 5S/Lean Improvements
  • Support ME & cell lead with process development 

 
Key Skills and experience: 

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry
  • Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and process improvement
  • Using the relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance
  • This role will require the individual to work overtime when requested.
  • The role requires the candidate to be self-certified and a quality stamp holder after qualifying period.
  • Programming experience on Studer CNC grinding machines that use StuderWin software.
  • Experience/knowledge of the Superfinishing process.
