OFR Specialist, DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark)

We are searching for a strong candidate to drive and support the development of our ocean freight products and services – as part of our strong Ocean Freight Competency Center.

You will play a central role in driving the commercial performance of our ocean freight product, with clear responsibility for pricing, profitability and market positioning. This is not a support function – it is a role where your decisions directly impact margin, competitiveness and how we show up towards our customers.

Operating in a volatile and capacity-driven market, you are expected to stay ahead of rate developments, carrier dynamics and global trends – and turn that insight into timely, well-founded pricing decisions. You will act as a trusted counterpart to both sales and operations, ensuring alignment between what we sell, what we deliver, and what makes business sense.

The role requires commercial judgement and a strong sense of ownership. You will work closely with carriers, customers and internal stakeholders, balancing short-term opportunities with long-term product development – always with a focus on creating sustainable and competitive solutions.

Your key responsibilities in the role will be to:

• prepare and deliver competitive spot rates and tender pricing for existing and new customers.
• manage pricing strategy and product responsibility for assigned customer accounts to ensure profitability and service quality.
• participate in customer meetings to provide pricing insights, operational expertise, and alignment on commercial expectations.
• conduct regular oceanfreight market updates for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• monitor global and regional market trends, capacity developments, and rate fluctuations to guide pricing decisions.
• support the continuous development of the ocean freight product, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
• negotiate rates, allocations, and service agreements with ocean carriers and other suppliers.
• maintain strong working relationships with carriers to secure competitive and reliable service offerings.

• are adaptable in a fast‑changing industry with volatile rates and market cycles.
• has high sense of ownership and accountability for assigned customer accounts and pricing topics.
• have the ability to develop strong relationships with customers and carriers.

We expect you to:

• have deep knowledge of the OFR Freight Forwarding business
• be a certified Freight Forwarder, advantage if you have completed “Examined Freight Forwarder”
• have minimum of 4 years’ experience in Seafreight Freight Forwarding or ocean pricing.
• be fluent in at least English, both verbally and in writing.

Workplace: DHL Global Forwarding, Centerbakken 1, Vejle – and as part of the job, you will have some traveling, mostly domestically, but as well internationally – on average 2-3 travel days per month. 

Working hours: The position is a full-time position

The compensation package: The base salary is determined by your qualifications and competencies.

The position is graded and sit within a predefined payband.

Besides the base salary you will have – just to mentioned a few of the benefits - a pension scheme, bonus scheme, 25+5 vacation days per year, and a “Fritvalgskonto” (a “saving account” equal to 10% of your annual salary) paid out in December.
