Office & Events Coordinator
Looking for a new adventure? You’ve come to the right place.
We're an Amsterdam-based team of 90+ (and counting) with 25+ nationalities amongst us. A varied bunch of “Citizens of The World” with a range of cool skills and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our travel belts. We also have something important in common (other than our very well-worn passports): We want to change the way people travel. And that's exactly what we're doing, with the travel app to plan, track, and remember trips in a smart and beautiful way.
Polarsteps has over 20 million users already, but, for us, this is just the start. You see, there are amazing new features on our roadmap, and we need even more talented & ambitious people to help us on our journey.
Your expedition: Office & Events Coordinator
We want to be the very best tech scale-up to work for in the Netherlands (if not the world!). That means creating and maintaining a happy team. And not just kinda happy or happy enough. We mean really genuinely happy. Because we truly care about our people and the unique company culture that they help us to create.
To make this happen, we go above and beyond to find ways to improve life at Polarsteps. Our office is a big part of our culture, it’s where we come together to connect, build, learn and celebrate. We always keep our eyes and ears open to create initiatives that truly matter. Our company continues to grow, and we want to nurture our unique culture and ensure that we operate efficiently as we scale our team.
At the end of the day, the basis of any successful company is the team behind it, and looking after ours is a priority. As an Office & Events coordinator, you will play a role in this, making a real difference by keeping our day-to-day running smoothly and our team happy.
About the team and more:
You'll be joining our PeopleOps team, currently a small team doing a lot. Office and events have always been part of the mix, but as the team grows, it's time to give it a proper home. That's why we're looking for our (very first!) Office & Events Coordinator to own this.
We believe this role is ideal for someone early in their career and seeking more experience in a scale-up environment. The role is part-time, 24 - 32 hours a week, and, due to its nature, you’ll always be working from our Amsterdam Office. This role starts with a 7-month contract, with the aim of being extended for up to 3 years in total.
For this role, we're looking for someone based in the Netherlands with the right to work here, we're not able to support relocation or visa sponsorship for this role. Ideally, you're available to join us soon!
Your itinerary:
What your journey at Polarsteps will look like day-to-day.
Work closely with our PeopleOps team to keep building an office that continues to feel good to be in!
Be the go-to person for the office, but also manage the rest to make sure things just work (from suppliers to utilities)
Take care of the everyday essentials: weekly lunch order, coffee stocked, gift, merch and the kind of thoughtful details that seem small, but people really notice
Own our culture calendar: Polarbeers, Lab-days, winter party, company trip. And all the smaller moments that make Polarsteps a place people are proud to work at!
Make sure new joiners hit the ground running and that the team always has the equipment they need.
Help with product events, recurring meetings, and make sure people who relocate land smoothly.
We’re soon moving to a new office (very close!) to our current one. Currently, this project is owned by our People & Performance lead, but you’ll help ensure the transition goes smoothly.

Because we believe that diversity, be it age, race, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnicity, or gender identity, makes both the world and the workplace better.
