Via Amsterdam is more than just a youth hotel— it's a vibrant, multi-functional playground for curious, new-age travellers. And at the heart of it all? The reception. As our Night Receptionist, you're not just a team member — you're the soul of the night shift 💖.

You're the first friendly face guests see when they arrive and the one who ensures their Amsterdam adventure kicks off right. Forget the boring, “passport and booking number please” routine — we’re all about real connection. Whether it’s sharing your favourite hidden vintage shop, that cozy café around the corner, or the coffee shop everyone’s actually here for, you’re the go-to local insider.

During the night, you and your shift buddy (or buddies) are responsible for the entire hostel. With nearly 1,000 beds filled, that’s no small task — but don’t worry, we’ve got your back. You'll receive thorough on-the-job training and complete an official Emergency Response Officer (BHV) course — a one-day session, right here at our location. We’re looking for someone who combines that training with good judgment and common sense to keep Via both safe and fun.

A workday includes:

• Being the first smiling face guests see (even at 2 AM!).

• Checking guests in and out, answering calls, and helping with questions.

• Giving the lowdown on Amsterdam’s must-sees, hidden gems, and can’t-miss experiences.

• Doing security rounds, handling issues, and making detailed reports.

• Keeping tabs on stock and restocking as needed.

• Wrapping up front office admin tasks like the night audit.

• Keeping the lobby looking sharp and welcoming.
