HR Generalist – 12-month FTC

Nexperia UK is seeking a proactive and committed HR Generalist to join our UK Semiconductor Manufacturing site based in Hazel Grove Stockport. You will be employed on a 12month fixed term contract, providing people focused support on a site with 1000+ employees across Manufacturing, R&D and support functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to influence local and global HR practice within a high tech, dynamic and fast paced company.  

What you will do:  

As an HR Generalist, you’ll play a key role in shaping a fair, consistent and people centred HR environment. You will manage ER casework, guiding managers on best practice, and supporting conciliation and early dispute resolution. Alongside this, you will get the chance to lead policy development, strengthen HR processes, and collaborate with Global HRBPs to deliver continuous improvement across the site. 

Key Responsibilities Include:  

Employee Relations & Case Management 

  • Manage a range of employee relations cases, ensuring fair, timely and legally compliant outcomes 

  • Provide guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice 

  • Support early dispute resolution, including conciliation discussions and informal mediation 

  • Liaise with external legal advisors where required 

  • Build strong relationships with Trade Union representatives and support collective discussions 

HR Policy, Process & Compliance 

  • Lead the creation, review and updating of HR policies, ensuring alignment with UK legislation and global HR standards 

  • Maintain and improve HR process flows, SOPs and documentation 

  • Ensure consistent application of HR processes across the UK manufacturing site 

  • Support audits and compliance activities as needed 

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement 

  • Partner with Global HRBPs to support local IT, Finance and other functional teams 

  • Support organisational changes, workforce planning and talent initiatives 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance employee experience 

  • Promote Nexperia’s culture, values and ways of working 

What you will need 

 

Essential requirements:  

 

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, ideally supported by CIPD accreditation 

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience  

  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and UK employment law 

  • Proficient in using HR systems and databases  

  • Experience supporting conciliation discussions and informal mediation as part of early dispute resolution 

  • Experience of working with Trade Unions and managing employee relations casework 

  • Proven experience in developing and updating HR policies, procedures and process flows 

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage workload effectively in line with changing priorities 

 

Desirable attributes:  

  • CIPD level 5 

  • Prior experience working in a busy manufacturing environment with varying stakeholders
