Position Title: New Products Launch Lead
Department: Specialty Care and Country Lead Canada
Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid) requiring office attendance 3 days per week
About the Job:
Sanofi is an R&D driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. We apply our deep understanding of the immune system to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world, with an innovative pipeline that could benefit millions more. Our team is guided by one purpose: we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives; this inspires us to drive progress and deliver positive impact for our people and the communities we serve, by addressing the most urgent healthcare, environmental, and societal challenges of our time. Our current Specialty Care pipeline is focused in rare diseases, immunology, neurology and oncology.
Reporting to Head of New Products Launch Specialty Care, this position is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to rigorously assess, shape, and drive disciplined launch strategies for new assets in Canada, ensuring organizational readiness through meaningful stakeholder engagement and purposeful insight generation that delivers patient and business impact.
The scope of the role will include advancing pipeline assets primarily in rare disease and immunology and may include other therapeutic areas in the future as organizational priorities evolve. It may also include the local implementation of Sanofi acquired assets.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans for new product launches and acquired assets, through leading teams (e.g. launch readiness teams) composed of key cross-functional members.
Implement the roadmap for new product launches and acquisitions in assigned therapeutic areas from the Specialty Care pipeline. As the Sanofi product pipeline is dynamic, therapeutic area responsibilities may evolve over time.
Oversee 3rd party vendors involved in commercialization of acquired assets (as required) in assigned therapeutic areas.
Assess the value of the different markets and develop the business cases and/or implementation plans for the new products.
Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration with internal cross functional (e.g. medical, market access, public affairs, regulatory, PV etc.) and external stakeholders to shape the market for upcoming launches.
Inform the key aspects of the go-to-market approach for an asset, considering the end-to-end needs of commercialization from pre-launch activities, and time of launch until it is delivered to the patient. As needs change, the role may evolve to manage the product lifecycle, from launch planning to ongoing market presence, including both marketing and sales team oversight and execution.
Identify critical success factors for launch and develop relevant engagement plans with tactics; drive implementation of the plan and monitor execution.
Generate key insights and develop strategic recommendations to advance market recognition along with measuring key performance indicators.
Align with Market Access & Public Affairs teams responsible for conducting payer market research and developing pricing models using competitive data and relevant analogs to recommend pricing options and strategies.
Partner with Market Access and GTMC Insight & Analytics teams to evaluate market trends and develop sensitivity models to maximize product access based on optimal price points.
Work in conjunction with global teams and align with global marketing on launch strategies, ensuring that Canada is well represented and prioritized in global launch sequencing where strategically important.
Partner with global marketers and agencies to develop branded and unbranded campaigns and assets with a best-in-class omnichannel approach, underpinned by market analysis and competitive benchmarking to drive ROI.
Manage any related budgets, financial forecasts (in partnership with Finance and GTMC), and investment proposals needed.
Embody science driven and patient focused culture and actively demonstrate company values of integrity, courage, respect, and teamwork.
Act as a sponsor and ally for inclusion and diversity in all elements of our business.
Comply with all forms of legal and statutory regulation within domain of responsibility, including compliance with applicable SOPs, industry codes of practice and best practices, and actively support and promote a compliance culture and safe environment throughout the organization.
