Job Description
What is the focus of the role?
The Emerging Networks Delivery & Engineering Specialist contributes to the delivery of emerging network initiatives, customer-focused use cases, and innovation activities that demonstrate Telstra’s technology capability and leadership.
The role combines hands‑on network engineering contribution with structured delivery capability, supporting projects, proofs of concept, demonstrations and showcases delivered through the Telstra Innovation Centre.
Working under the guidance of senior engineers, technical leads and delivery leads, the role focuses on executing defined outcomes, applying established delivery and engineering practices, and building depth of capability across both network technologies and delivery ways of working.
The role supports engagement with stakeholders across the business and contributes to the preparation and delivery of network showcases and demonstrations, including engagements with senior leaders, customers and partners, in a controlled and well‑governed environment.

Generic Role Purpose
As a Delivery Specialist and Network Engineer (Band 3i), you play an integral role in supporting successful delivery outcomes. You are recognised by your peers as a team player who demonstrates curiosity, technical capability and a strong customer focus.
You apply your developing engineering expertise and delivery discipline to contribute to projects and initiatives, ensuring work is delivered in line with agreed scope, quality standards and Telstra policies and processes. Network Engineering / Delivery Specialist Accountabilities
Translate customer and business requirements into defined technical solutions under guidance from senior engineers or technical leads
Support the design, testing, integration and optimisation of network technologies, platforms and systems within defined technology domains
Contribute to reliable customer experiences through support of incidents, fixes, upgrades, improvements and optimisation activities
Assist with assessment of vendor solutions, technologies and offerings against technical and business requirements
Build depth of technical knowledge through continuous learning, feedback and coaching, actively engaging in continuous professional and personal development
Contribute to the application and evolution of technical standards, guidelines and engineering practices
Collaborate effectively with mission teams, project teams and stakeholders to deliver agreed technical outcomes
Maintain a strong customer focus through clear, confident and effective communication with stakeholders, team members and chapter peers
Ensure work is delivered in alignment with Telstra policies, processes and tools for financial management and project/program delivery
Emerging Networks & Innovation Contribution
Contribute to emerging network initiatives including proofs of concept, demonstrations, trials and customer use cases
Support the preparation and delivery of network showcases and demonstrations at the Telstra Innovation Centre and external events on behalf of Telstra
Assist with technical readiness, rehearsal and operational discipline for stakeholder and executive engagements
Work collaboratively across business units to support innovation activities and cross‑functional demonstrations
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Delivery & Ways of Working
Experience contributing to project or delivery environments
Understanding of agile delivery principles and structured delivery frameworks
Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Network Engineering
Foundational to intermediate experience in telecommunications or network engineering domains
Ability to apply technical knowledge to customer and business problems
Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop depth in selected technology domains

Qualifications (Desirable)
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, IT or Telecommunications (or equivalent experience)
