Responsible for working with the Network and Systems Engineers to create, maintain and enforce security plans and policies effecting the network. Core Responsibilities
- The Firewall & Load Balancer Operations Support Engineer is responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the security posture of the company's IP network infrastructure.
- This role demands strong hands-on experience with firewall platforms and load balancer technologies, combined with solid foundational knowledge across network domains.
- Engineer ensures that all security safeguards align with industry standards, generally accepted business practices, and internal company security policies.
- This is an operational support role requiring rapid incident response, proactive security monitoring, and close cross-functional collaboration with Network Operations, Development, and Customer Success teams — all while
maintaining customer SLA commitments. - Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall platforms across multiple security zones.
- Manage load balancer configurations ( F5 BIG-IP ) to ensure high availability, optimal traffic distribution, and session persistence.
- Review, validate, and implement firewall rule requests through the structured intake process, ensuring compliance with zone-based access policies.
- Perform regular rule-base reviews and clean-up to remove redundant, shadowed, or overly permissive firewall rules.
