NETWORK ARCHITECT

Job Summary Applies advanced knowledge of principles, theories and concepts, industry practices and standards to coordinate and administer wide area computer network activities in a twenty-four (24) hour seven (7) day per week mission critical environment. Manages assigned projects in a development, test and production environment. Essential Functions Key Responsibilities Serves as technical expert on network systems and software architecture and performance. Utilizes an extensive advanced mastery of network systems in developing network design. Develops network and infrastructure concepts and requirements to meet IT network needs and assists system engineers to modelling of the IT network and systems environment. Influences the overall network security technology road map, design and architecture standards. Designs advanced routing and switching solutions. Completes component and web service based network architectures. Develops, communicates and maintains up to date, accurate documentation of all network components and systems. Plans for future capacity and executes related action plans. Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures. Supports system engineers and other IT technology experts to provide a reliable IT network and infrastructure. Implements advanced network configurations. Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
