Compliance Officer
About Muvr
Muvr is building the future of on-demand logistics and moving services. Our platform connects customers with trusted drivers and crews to deliver large items quickly and reliably. As we scale across markets, compliance must scale with us. This role helps keep Muvr audit-ready, regulator-safe, and operationally disciplined without slowing execution.
Role Overview
The Compliance Officer ensures Muvr operates in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across marketplace operations. You will build and maintain compliance frameworks, monitor adherence, run audits and risk assessments, and partner with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into day-to-day workflows.
This is not a policy-only role. You will drive real implementation through practical controls, defensible documentation, and training that improves behavior and reduces risk.
Key Responsibilities
1) Regulatory Compliance Oversight
- Monitor and support compliance with local, state, and federal requirements relevant to logistics and delivery operations.
- Partner with Legal to interpret requirements and translate them into operational controls and procedures.
- Maintain a regulatory obligations tracker with owners, evidence requirements, and review cadence.
- Support regulatory inquiries by ensuring documentation, records, and supporting materials are complete and accessible.
2) Policies, Procedures, and Internal Controls
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, SOPs, and internal controls that teams can follow in real operations.
- Ensure policies are practical, enforceable, and mapped to actual workflows rather than theoretical standards.
- Establish governance practices such as change control, approvals, and documentation standards.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, including controls, evidence, version history, and decision logs.
3) Audits, Monitoring, and Risk Assessments
- Conduct compliance audits and monitoring across operations, support workflows, partner processes, and internal practices.
- Build and maintain exception reporting to track non-compliance, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Perform risk assessments for new markets, new partners, new service types, and new workflows.
- Drive remediation plans with clear owners, timelines, and follow-through.
4) Incident Reporting and Investigations
- Manage incident reporting standards and ensure correct triage, documentation, and escalation.
- Support investigations related to compliance issues, operational breaches, or policy violations.
- Partner with Trust and Safety, Risk, and Operations on high-severity incidents and corrective actions.
- Ensure post-incident learnings are captured and translated into updated controls, policies, or training.
5) Training and Enablement
- Build and deliver compliance training programs for managers and frontline teams.
- Create role-based training for Operations, Support, Partnerships, and leadership teams.
- Reinforce compliance through checklists, templates, and practical examples rather than overly theoretical content.
- Track completion and effectiveness using audits, QA results, and incident trends.
6) Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Track compliance performance across audit pass rates, exception volume, time-to-remediation, incident trends, and training completion.
- Provide weekly or monthly reporting to leadership with risks, progress, and recommended next steps.
- Identify recurring failure patterns and recommend process or tooling improvements that reduce compliance risk.
- Keep the compliance program lightweight, practical, and scalable.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity, streamline documentation and analysis, and support higher-quality execution while maintaining sound judgment, accuracy, and confidentiality.
