Partnership with the BFD
We are a strong partner of the Bundeswehr’s Career Transistion Service (Berufsförderungsdienst, BFD) and support soldiers in their transition to successful civilian careers. Whether as a fixed-term soldier (SaZ) or voluntary military service (FWDL) - many former soldiers have started their careers with us. Meet us in person at a BFD event!

What entry opportunities are available for former soldiers?
You can apply your acquired skills at TKMS in a variety of fields - from production and engineering to project management. We also have our own crew of experienced submarine operators. Alternatively, you can take advantage of one of our many training programs and learn a new profession.

How can I adapt my skills to meet industry requirements?
Don’t worry! You will quickly feel comfortable in TKMS’s corporate culture. We place great importance on the personal and professional development of our employees. We offer a wide range of opportunities to continuously improve and acquire new skills - both in-person and digitally.

Which professions and fields best match my military experience?
Your military experience is highly valued here! Particularly well-suited are roles where you can apply your knowledge of customers and products. In many cases, leadership positions are also available, such as team leader roles.

We recommend submitting your application at least six months before your service ends. Feel free to connect with us earlier at a BFD event.
