Merchant Marketing Associate (Part-Time)

The Merchant Marketing Associate at Carousell is a dynamic role that combines translation, copywriting, search engine optimization (SEO), customer relations, and customer success to enhance the platform's merchant experience. This associate is responsible for translating regional GTMs into local language, crafting engaging and SEO-friendly articles, managing and resolving merchant inquiries, fostering long-term merchant relationships, and driving merchant success through data-driven strategies. By analyzing performance metrics, they inform and adjust marketing strategies, ensuring the platform remains a vibrant and engaging marketplace. This role requires a blend of creative, analytical, and interpersonal skills, making it essential for the growth and satisfaction of Carousell's merchant community.
This role will have dual reporting to the Category Sales Lead and Merchant Marketing team Lead. This is a part time contractor (6-month) position, renewable upon contract expiry.
You Will:
Translate regional marketing English GTMs into Cantonese
Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
Reach out to potential clients through emails, messages and online platforms
Present our company to potential clients and let them understand our services and subscription plan better
Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
Bridge (prospective) clients and Business Development Executives through setting up of meetings / calls
Stay up-to-date with latest products/services and their price/payment plans
Self-source for sites to do scraping leads
Execute on daily administrative tasks and regional marketing campaigns
Able to provide detailed and relevant leads
Support the team with other ad-hoc tasks as assigned
DSE graduated or above
Good command of verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
Candidates with proven experience in copywriting, SEO, customer relations, and/or customer success, preferably in an e-commerce or online marketplace environment are preferred.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce compelling and SEO-friendly content.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with merchants and internal teams.
Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decision-making and marketing strategies.
Detail oriented multi-tasker who is able to prioritize workload and time effectively
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively
University students and fresh graduates will be considered
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
