The Mechatronics Technician I will be supporting the build, assembly, test, and troubleshooting of automated and robotic systems used in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced automation environments. This role works under close to moderate supervision and focuses on developing foundational skills in mechanical, electrical, and controls systems while contributing to day‑to‑day equipment support and development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assembly, installation, and modification of mechatronic and automated equipment under guidance from senior technicians and engineers

  • Assist with mechanical assembly, including component installation, cable routing, alignment, and fastener torqueing

  • Support electrical assembly tasks, such as wiring, connector termination, sensor installation, and I/O checks

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment issues and escalate complex problems appropriately

  • Assist in system bring‑up, debug support, and functional testing activities

  • Read and follow mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and work instructions

  • Document work performed, including build notes, redlines, and issue tracking

  • Support preventive maintenance and basic repairs on automation equipment

  • Follow all safety, EHS, and cleanroom procedures

  • Participate in training activities to build competency in controls, robotics, and automation systems

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electronics, or related field, OR equivalent military technical experience

  • Basic knowledge of: Mechanical assemblies and hand tools, Electrical components (sensors, motors, power supplies), and Automated or electromechanical systems

  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and procedures

  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast‑paced development and manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, lab, or co‑op experience with automation or robotics

  • Exposure to PLCs, IPCs, or industrial control systems

  • Familiarity with basic industrial communication concepts (I/O, sensors, actuators)

  • Experience working in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high‑reliability manufacturing environments

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $26 to $33.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
