Mechanical/Electrical Metrology Lab Manager

Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, maintains, and delegates the workflow of calibration lab (mechanical and electrical) and manufacturing product line activities
- Responsible for all procedures, work instructions, and forms utilized in the day-to-day operation.
- Responsible for creating/maintaining a team atmosphere through effective communication, constructive feedback, corrective actions, and incentives to perform.
- Works with the Management Team with regards to maintaining and improving the Quality Management System
- Monitor and ensure technical competence of direct reports.
- Monitor and report weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual metrics for performance management. Including Return to Factory, Turn Around Time, Out Of Tolerance reporting, and customer satisfaction.
• Assigns, directs and follows up on tasks and processes.
• Leads and enforces Continuous Process Improvement Activities with a strong emphasis on LEAN methodology, including 5S, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies.
• Maintains business controls and processes.
• Interface with engineering, product development, and quality teams to support calibration and certification projects. - Management of departmental budget.
Qualifications
Required: • Technical background in Electronics, preferably in Network Analyzers and/or Test and Measurement Accessories • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., ASTM, NADCAP, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100). • The role requires strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with various levels of internal and external customers. • • Candidates must be able to solve practical problems and work efficiently under tight deadlines. • Solid understanding of dimensional metrology, electrical/electronic theory, electro-mechanical systems, and test methods. • Strong leadership ability and positive, proactive approach to working in a dynamic, progressive environment.
Preferred: • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific field. • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic documentation. • Certification in quality management or laboratory management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence). • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. • Prior calibration lab management experience, managing 10-20 people. |

California Pay Range MIN $134,950.00 MIDPOINT $179,930.00 MAX $224,920.00
