Mechanical Engineer – Charging Power and Transfer

Ownership and key responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise for Charging Power and Transfer OR Power Collection product group.

- Speed up solutions to urgent transfer engineering issues that improve safety, reliability, and performance, working closely with the global design authorities, local site production and Methods Team. Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues.

- Help forecast the upcoming engineering issues so they do not become sourcing or production blocking.

- Contribute to the product transfer ownership on site.

- Produce and check technical documentation and drawings including but not limited to, calculations, drawings, 3D models, Engineering Bill of Materials (EBoMs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), technical bulletins/ articles, technical instructions, technical reports, and technical specifications.

- Longer term work on Design for Manufacture/Design to Cost activities to reduce complexity of products and help validate both locally and with engineering CoC’s.

- Ensure assigned tasks are completed in line with timescales as agreed with Engineering management.

- Maintain engineering project plans and track engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities:

- Mechanical product design - undertake detailed design of product structure, components, and output complete 2D/3D drawings – preferred Solidworks knowledge.

- Components’ development: Design of individual components for product optimization and manufacturability - conduct tolerance analysis and design for manufacturing and assembly and provide technical support during product production.

- Close coordination with interacting departments such as Systems Engineering, Production/ manufacturing departments, and Methods Team.

 

Requirements:

-Higher education (mechanical/engineering systems studies).

-Experience in new product development, including design, verification and validation min. 3 years.

-Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing techniques and processes, and general engineering principles.

-Agile team player who takes the full ownership of the assigned projects and tasks.

-Fluency in spoken and written Polish and English.

-Knowledge of ERP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks, as well as MS Office.

-Hands-on experience in product design and development.

-Commitment to success and excellence.

-Passion for product development.

-Organized, good planning skills.

-Excellent communication, teamwork skills.

-Work location is the plant in Poland, Kąty Wrocławskie.

-Ability to work independently and travel to global engineering /supplier sites as required.

-Driver license B.
