Selenium API - Software Development Engineer in Test
Role Overview:
We are seeking seasoned Senior SDET experienced in automation testing, API validation, and quality engineering, specifically within e commerce and checkout ecosystems. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and scalability of customer facing commerce and checkout workflows, including cart, payment, order placement, and post order integrations. As part of the Quality Engineering organization, you will work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high performing checkout experiences at scale.This is a Hybrid position located at our Bangalore, India, development center. You will be required to be on-site 2 to 3 days per week. When you are not working on-site, you will be working from your home office. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to our Bangalore office and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the Role
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing, with a strong focus on checkout, payments, and order lifecycle workflows.
- Create and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end checkout scenarios, including edge cases and failure handling.
- Validate complex API integrations across checkout services and its integrations.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to clarify checkout requirements, identify defects early, perform root cause analysis, and ensure high‑quality, zero‑regression releases.
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines by integrating automation suites, improving test coverage, and enforcing quality gates aligned with Agile/Scrum practices.
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of checkout quality, proactively identifying risks related to performance, reliability, and scalability during peak traffic and high‑volume transactions.
About You
- 8–12 years of experience as a Senior SDET or QA Automation Engineer, with strong ownership of testing strategy for e‑commerce and checkout platforms.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Selenium, and API automation with additional exposure to .NET, Node.js, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with API automation tools such as Rest Assured, postman or Karate is highly desirable.
- Proven e‑commerce domain expertise, particularly in cart, checkout, payments, fraud validation, order processing, and post‑order flows.
- Comfortable working with distributed teams, proactive in communication, and highly detail‑oriented.
- A quality‑driven engineer who can build robust automation frameworks, reduce production defects, and improve overall checkout reliability.
