Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Segments and optimizes the portfolio of materials through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and commercial policy.
- Defines inventory policies based on the specified segmentation.
- Calculates and maintains the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and the ERPs.
- Collaborates with buyers to achieve the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead time, and flexibility.
- Coordinates material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
- Manages materials resource planning exception messages on a daily basis.
- Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting.
- Makes financial risk assessment decisions related to inventory and conducts root cause analysis when necessary.
- Analyzes excess and obsolete/aging inventory.
- Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics functions.
