Job Description
 
Core Responsibilities
 
  • Segments and optimizes the portfolio of materials through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and commercial policy.
  • Defines inventory policies based on the specified segmentation.
  • Calculates and maintains the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and the ERPs.
  • Collaborates with buyers to achieve the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead time, and flexibility.
  • Coordinates material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
  • Manages materials resource planning exception messages on a daily basis.
  • Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting.
  • Makes financial risk assessment decisions related to inventory and conducts root cause analysis when necessary.
  • Analyzes excess and obsolete/aging inventory.
  • Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics functions.
