Data Engineer (all genders)

Berlin April 21, 2026 Full Time

Your Role in our team

You'll be Marta's first dedicated data hire. You'll build the data foundation on which we scale analytics – and eventually ML – over the coming years.

    In your first 12 months:

  • Design and maintain our transformation layer (dbt or equivalent)

  • Bring structure to our Redshift warehouse – clean it up, govern it, keep it healthy

  • Define and document our core KPIs together with Product and Ops

  • Own Metabase: clean dashboards, reliable numbers, self-service for teams

  • Build data quality monitoring so problems surface before someone discovers them manually

  • From around month 9 (in parallel):

  • Build infrastructure for experimentation – A/B tests tracked and evaluated cleanly

  • Enable self-service analytics so Product and Ops can answer their own questions

  • Lay the groundwork a future ML Engineer can actually build on

Your Profile

  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills – you think in data structures

  • Hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation tools

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)

  • A great understanding of BI and dashboarding – you know what good metrics look like and why bad definitions are expensive

  • You can talk to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate priorities

  • You work in a structured way, you document, and you genuinely enjoy bringing order to chaos

A Plus:

  • Good understanding of ML pipelines / feature engineering

  • Comfortable with Python for scripting and automation

  • Familiarity with the broader AWS data ecosystem is a plus
