Manager, Accounting
Responsibilities:
- Monthly and quarterly accounting close activities for assigned company codes in US
markets and Canada (primarily US Metadata, Canada)
- Coordination with operations team and finance team counterparts to determine proper
accounting treatment for business decisions and assisting with Purchase Order/payment
processing
- Provide leadership and oversight to US/Canada accounting teams in GCC
- Coordination of documentation/issue resolution and leadership of GCC accounting team
to meet Nielsen controllership objectives
- Review of manual journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with
Nielsen accounting policies (primarily US Metadata, Canada) ~ 50 MJEs on a monthly
basis, each less than $1M
- Review of account reconciliations in accordance with Nielsen accounting policies; drive
improvement in the account reconciliation quality by working with GCC accounting team
on efficiencies and better quality (primarily US Metadata, Canada) ~ 40 on a monthly
basis
- Continuous process improvement
- Audit assistance for annual audit, including submission of requested documentation and
addressing questions resulting from audit (primarily US Metadata, Canada)
- Support Canada tax filings and other government regulatory requirements on a monthly
and annual basis
- Review and approve Canada payroll
Qualifications/Experience:
- BS in accounting from an accredited university
- 8 - 10 years of experience
- Chartered Accountant
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational/time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Experience with SAP (S4 Hana)
- Experience with Blackline a plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills
