Management Assistant
Who We Are
Our strategy? To be anything but typical strategy consultants! Our unconventional nature is embedded deep in our DNA. Over 60 years ago, BCG shook up the world of strategy consulting. Now, it has grown to become one of the world leaders in the field. How do we manage to stay ahead of the pack? The answer is simple: by reinventing ourselves every day and providing a home with diverse career opportunities to the best talent and most creative minds all over the world. And by giving you the chance to make an impact in business and society. BCG stands for authenticity, exceptional work, and strong integrity. Once you’ve become part of the Group, we’ll help you find your path, unleash your potential, effect change, and advance the world.

Your business is our business. If our Business Management and Operations Team had a slogan, that’s what it would be. The fact is, though, that the members of this team are far too busy ensuring our consultants’ work is efficient and productive to have the time to come up with slogans. Whether Executive or Management Assistant, Receptionist, Facility Staff member, Team Lead, or Office Manager: Each and every member of the Business Management and Operations Team contributes directly to our consultants’ success—and thus to that of our clients.
What You'll Do
The Management Assistant (MA) team in Budapest is the operational core that keeps BCG's consulting function running. As an MA, you’ll provide direct support to Project Leaders, Principals, and Partners—managing calendars, travel, meetings, expenses, and stakeholder coordination highly independently and with the use of your own judgment.
This is not a role for someone looking for a stable, unchanging routine: We are actively transforming our CEE Assistant function, rolling out a unified service model across our offices in Budapest, Prague, and Warsaw, introducing new tools, and redefining how our MAs and their senior stakeholders work together. The right person for this role will find this transformation genuinely exciting.
Now is a particularly interesting moment to join, as we launch a new regional operating model, including new coverage systems, collaboration norms, and productivity tools. You can have real influence on the design of the Budapest MA team, rather than just inheriting a fixed setup.
Your core responsibilities will include the following:
- Calendar management: full ownership of scheduling, conflict resolution, and proactive coordination for assigned seniors
- Travel management: flight/hotel booking and visa and logistics organization via BCG systems and travel agents
- Meeting support: internal and external meeting setup, room bookings, and agenda and catering coordination
- Expense and timesheet management: biweekly submission cycles, transparent reporting, and proactive follow-up
- Event and team support: case kickoff logistics, team dinner organization, and finance processing
- Coverage and substitution: backup for absent colleagues within the structured CEE coverage model
- Tool adoption: active use of shared platforms, including ShareCal, Trello, and collaboration templates
What You'll Bring
- Successfully completed commercial training, ideally in office management, service, hospitality, or administration
- Initial practical experience as a secretary, assistant, team assistant, or similar role
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Outlook (calendar and inbox management)
- Confident professional communication in Hungarian and English, written and spoken
- Strong organizational skills, a structured and independent way of working, and a service mindset
- Strong reliability, discretion, and personal responsibility
- Flexibility and composure in a fast-moving, sometimes unpredictable environment
- A growth mindset and genuine willingness to learn and adapt—even when things change
- Openness to working with new technologies, including GenAI tools, to improve efficiency
- Ease while operating in a period of change, before all processes are fully defined
- Confidence to set and hold professional boundaries with senior stakeholders—respectfully and clearly
- Additional languages (Czech or Polish) are a plus for cross-office coverage scenarios
Who You'll Work With
You'll join a team of MAs and Executive Assistants across Budapest, Prague, and Warsaw, led by the CEE Assistant Services Manager. You'll have direct peers in Budapest, collaborate with cross-office counterparts on coverage, and interact daily with leaders and consultants from Project Leader to Managing Director & Partner level.
In your close-knit and professional team, you'll have structured onboarding, clear service guidelines, and an experienced manager to support your development—not just a to-do list.
