Looking For Linux Patching - Technical Analyst
Role & responsibilities
• Execute end-to-end patching cycles for Linux and Solaris servers, including scheduling, approvals, deployment, and validation. • Troubleshoot patch failures, dependency issues, and performance anomalies. • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements; perform OS hardening and vulnerability remediation. • Develop and maintain automation scripts and Ansible playbooks for patching tasks. • Support OS upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management. • Maintain documentation for patching procedures, rollback plans, and known issues. • Collaborate with application teams to minimize downtime during patch windows. • Monitor and report patch health and compliance status. • Participate in incident management and root-cause analysis for patch-related issues. Required Skills & Experience • Strong expertise in Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) and Solaris (10/11) administration. • Proficiency in YUM/DNF/PKG, kernel modules, SELinux, systemd, LVM, ZFS, and networking. • Hands-on experience with patching tools, repositories, and satellite servers. • Ability to troubleshoot OS-level issues in production environments. • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem).
