Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager - MSDI
Lead re-export orders in full compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards. Handle shipment exceptions (short/part/damaged), cross-labelling discrepancies, and related clearance challenges; execute root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Trade Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
- Partner with Regulatory to obtain/maintain product licenses and certificates; align with global policies and ensure consistent compliance.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of DGFT scrips, duty drawback, and license-linked benefits; ensure accurate claims, recordkeeping, and audit readiness.
- Enforce fair trade practices and ensure accuracy/completeness of import/export documentation at shipping points.
- Align with transporters, freight forwarders, and vendors on service levels; lead reviews to identify gaps and implement improvements.
- Negotiate and manage contracts for warehousing, transportation, labelling, and agency services; define SLAs, KPIs, and escalation paths.
- Optimize shipment modes, routing, and dispatch plans with international suppliers to balance cost, cycle time, and risk.
- Collaborate with planning to synchronize import/export schedules with production requirements; mitigate stockouts and excess inventory.
- Evaluate customer demand, on-hand stock, lead times, and procurement plans to ensure uninterrupted shop-floor production.
- Utilize Parker tools (PH Connect, PFEP, S&OP) to maintain materials metrics and Standards of Performance; monitor shipping/receiving performance and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with international suppliers on dispatch readiness, documentation accuracy, and adherence to shipment schedules.
- Develop purchase plans with suppliers aligned to capacity, lead times, and production demand; ensure on-time deliveries for current and future needs.
- Partner with divisional materials teams to maintain continuity with purchasing strategies and supplier performance management.
Define, track, and act on KPIs; align internal teams and external partners to performance targets.
Conduct regular reviews with CHA, transporters, and forwarders; implement structured improvement plans and verify effectiveness.
Investigate variances in shipping/receiving; eliminate process deficiencies through corrective and preventive actions.
Financial Control and Governance - Approve invoices and ensure timely payment to service providers; reconcile charges against contracted services, SLAs, and performance.
Support internal and external audits related to planning, procurement, inventory control, and trade compliance; maintain documentation and process adherence.
- Validate and submit complete customs documentation for all import/export consignments via CHA/forwarders to achieve on-time, penalty-free clearance with minimal holds.
- Negotiate and manage contracts and shipment modes across 3PLs, forwarders, and lanes to reduce total landed cost and transit time while meeting SLAs.
- Align materials plan with supplier dispatch and transit lead times for critical parts and raw materials to sustain production without line stops and meet schedule adherence targets.
- Set and maintain PFEP/ERP parameters and safety stocks for stocked and MTO items to achieve target inventory turns and Days of Supply with minimal obsolescence.
- Collaborate on capacity, commit dates, and ASN accuracy with key suppliers to improve on-time delivery and reduce expedites and shortages.
- File, track, and reconcile DGFT scrips, duty drawback, and licenses for eligible shipments to maximize recoveries and remain audit-ready and compliant.
- Investigate and close logistics/receipt exceptions (short/part/damage, IGM, cross-labeling) on affected POs/shipments to recover value, prevent recurrence, and protect OTIF.
- Verify and approve service provider invoices against contracts, KPIs, and actuals for logistics, warehousing, and agency charges to ensure accurate payments, cost control, and transparency
10-12 years in supply chain/logistics with strong import/export and trade compliance exposure; experience with CHA/freight forwarder management and government liaison, planning / procurement / purchase function of Engineering product
