Logistics Network & Cost Data Specialist
The Logistics Cost Control team is responsible for invoice processing and audit, cost reporting and forecasting for different departments of the EMEA logistics network, including Finished Vehicles, Service Distribution, E-commerce and Energy. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex rate agreements and logistics network setups into a structured and accessible database format for users across the EMEA Logistics Team and performing modeling and analysis related to this data. As a proactive and analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, your focus will include setting up and maintaining the logistics network database, performing data analysis and modelling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Logistics, Freight Audit and Business Analytics. You are a problem-solver who can design and implement efficient data solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for key stakeholders. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability are essential to succeed in this role.
- Design and develop a structured database to store logistics rate agreements and network configurations.
- Define and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for seamless data integration.
- Establish data standardization, governance, and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with teams including Finance, FP&A, Logistics, and Freight Audit to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Develop the database backend using SQL and Python, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Build user-friendly front-end interfaces using technologies such as JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Perform data modelling, analysis, and visualization to support decision-making and optimization of the logistics network, providing insights to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Maintain and enhance data security and compliance with governance policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a relevant field or a minimum of two years’ experience in Data Analysis, Data Science or Data Engineering.
- Understanding basic data structures, database concepts and optimization with a focus on logistics data and logistics networks.
- Proficiency with SQL and Python for backend database development and data processing.
- Familiarity with front-end development languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Exceptional analytical skills with regards to logistics analysis, data manipulation, and the ability to create information from data.
- Self-starter that can drive projects in larger teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or finance-related data management is a plus.
