We are looking for an immediate, full-time, fixed-term contract position in APAC at Seoul, South Korea.

Job Purpose:

  • Support to develop and administer legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DHL Group's legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal framework, standards, applicable laws and regulations

Your tasks:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support for Supply Chain and Global Forwarding business unit in the country, including providing legal advice to functional and operational area managers to ensure business activities align with company policies and comply with local laws and regulations;
  • Conduct legal research and support preparation of legal advice to ensure business unit in the country comply with applicable local laws and regulations;
  • Support the implementation of global legal strategy and tools at a country level to ensure uniformity in the use of legal templates and tools;
  • Support other corporate functions by delivering legal support necessary in overall attainment of their goals;
  • Help identify legal risks and contribute to the development of country legal risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide general business legal advice, including assisting with legal research and assisting to provide internal legal memos to the business, review statements or documents to ensure legal risks are mitigated;
  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and other documents related to commercial, financial, and operational matters (e.g., customer contracts, leases, purchase agreements, employment contracts) in accordance with company policies and local laws and with the objective to protect the organization’s legal and business interest;
  • Attend internal meetings, including management and project meetings as and when needed to provide legal advice;
  • Coordinate and procure legal advice from external legal services in any area of law outside his/her area of specialization/competence;
  • Assist in the selection of qualified external legal resources and cost control, including assisting in negotiation of letter of engagement/volume discount arrangement or on other ad hoc arrangements;
  • Assist to prepare quarterly litigation & legal reports for review to line manager;
  • Monitor and advise Business Units and SAIC Legal team on any significant development in the local country laws impacting the business;
  • Assist in the design and delivery of training courses on legal topics relevant to the business;
  • Provide legal support, including liaising with external counsels and preparing relevant materials to support Business Units’ legal proceedings before the courts, government agencies or other authorities; and
  • Conduct work associated with legal counselling, patent/intellectual property law, legal research & document drafting, contract negotiation & administration and legal records management.

Your profile:

Education Level:

  • Bachelor of Law Degree from reputable local or foreign university

Experience Level:

  • Commercial pragmatism, ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Korean);
  • Good understanding of DHL Group’s business activities;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to operate independently and confidently in a complex and challenging environment; and
  • 4-7 years PQE in legal practice, gained in reputable commercial law firm or in‑house legal department
