Location: Auckland CBD
Part-time | Fixed-term | Yoobee City Road Campus

Note: This is a 12-month fixed-term role based at our Auckland campus, working part-time hours on either Saturday or Sunday (One 7.5-hour day a week - 2.5 hours teaching, remaining hours focused on other duties).

About the role:

The Lecturer will be responsible in delivering exceptional teaching and supervision across our Master of Management programme, with key areas being course focused on Financial Management, Project Management, Research Methods, and New Zealand Political and Social Environment.

You will be responsible for ensuring an optimal learning environment by providing high-quality instruction, fostering intellectual independence, and supporting students in achieving academic and professional success through cutting-edge research and practical guidance.

In addition to this, the role will contribute to curriculum development, academic quality assurance, research supervision, and industry engagement, ensuring graduates are workforce-ready and capable of operating in complex global environments.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based teaching across Master of Management courses, fostering critical thinking and advanced professional capability.

  • Design and assess Level 9 postgraduate learning and assessments aligned with NZQA standards, providing timely and constructive feedback.

  • Ensure programme and curriculum content remains current, innovative, and strongly aligned with industry and global management trends.

  • Teach advanced management practice across leadership, governance, sustainability, digital transformation, risk and resilience, and strategic decision-making.

  • Supervise industry-based capstone and postgraduate research projects, supporting applied problem-solving and scholarly reporting.

  • Lead engaging learning experiences through lectures, seminars, workshops, and blended multi-campus delivery.

  • Maintain an active research profile and ongoing professional development, contributing to publications, collaboration, and industry engagement.

You are an engaging and future-focused educator with a passion for developing the next generation of strategic leaders and management professionals. With strong expertise in postgraduate teaching and a commitment to academic excellence, you bring the ability to connect advanced management theory with real-world industry practice.

There are multiple roles available currently and we are seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:

  • Financial Management / Finance & Quantitative Business
  • Project Management / Project, Change & Organisational Practice
  • Sustainability & Business/Political/Social Environment (in an NZ context)
  • Research Methods in Management

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Currently hold (or be working towards obtaining) a PhD in Management, Business Administration, Leadership, Digital Innovation, Sustainability, Strategic Management, or a closely related disciplined
  • Proven teaching experience at postgraduate level (Level 8–9), with demonstrated capability in supervising research and industry-based projects. 
  • Industry experience in areas such as leadership, digital transformation, sustainability, or governance is required
  • Proven evidence of scholarly activity and/or applied research contributing to academic and professional practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively teach and engage diverse, multicultural cohorts.
  • Experience in blended or hybrid delivery models, along with strong stakeholder engagement and professional networking capabilities.
